It was inevitable, the Jirout/Wood collaboration. It was supposed to be an album of folky Americana, and some of that happened, but it quickly got into more voluminous territory. We nearly killed one another over "artistic differences." Listen closely for the sound of spilled blood. We gave Charlie top billing because he was the easiest one to get along with. When we asked him what he thought of a mix, he'd go off into drummerspeak, and we'd nod politely. If we asked him about, say, a new keyboard part, he'd say, "Keyboard?"

But, yeah, we're very happy with the results. I love Jeff's music, and he loves mine. Charlie thinks that part on the hi-hat could have been more...something.

Oh...it's called "Slow Roll" after a drum riff that opens two songs. We realized that it could mean other things, too. We're literary like that.
